Privacy Policy

BizValis (OPC) Private Limited (“BizValis”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of anyone who visits this website or engages us for professional services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights available to you. It is intended to be read together with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules made under it. By using this website or providing information to us, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us, and may include your name, address, phone number, email address, Director Identification Number (where relevant to an engagement), bank account details (where required for an engagement), and technical information such as your IP address and cookie data, along with details of the pages you visit on this site.

2. How We Use Your Information

Depending on the services you engage us for, we may use your information to:

  • Contact you by phone, email, post, or message regarding an engagement or enquiry;
  • Verify your identity where required by law or professional standards;
  • Understand your requirements and scope a valuation or advisory engagement;
  • Maintain records as required by applicable legal, regulatory, or professional obligations;
  • Process invoices and payments;
  • Detect and prevent fraud or other unlawful activity;
  • Send updates relevant to our services, where you have not opted out.

3. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we will not intentionally disclose it to third parties without your permission, except where:

  • Disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law, regulation, or a court or regulatory order;
  • Disclosure is necessary to respond to a bona fide claim of infringement of copyright or other proprietary rights connected to information you have submitted to us;
  • BizValis merges with, or transfers all or substantially all of its assets to, another entity, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Where we engage third-party service providers — for example, IT infrastructure or software providers — to help us deliver our services, we share only the information necessary for that purpose and require them, contractually, to keep it secure and use it solely to perform the relevant task.

4. Data Retention

As a Registered Valuer, BizValis is required under Rule 8(3)(f) of the Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Rules, 2017 to maintain records of each valuation assignment for at least three years from its completion; the applicable Code of Conduct requires related working papers to be kept for the same period, or until final disposal, if a matter is pending before the Tribunal or Appellate Tribunal.

Accordingly, we retain client and assignment-related personal information for a minimum of 3 years from the completion of the relevant engagement, and for longer where a specific law, regulatory requirement, or pending proceeding requires it. Information collected through general website enquiries that does not relate to a formal engagement is retained only for as long as needed to respond to and, where relevant, follow up on that enquiry.

5. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, or alteration. Access to personal information is limited to authorised personnel, who are bound by confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your data is generally processed on servers located in India. Where operational needs require us to use service providers with infrastructure outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure equivalent protections apply.

6. Children and Persons Lacking Legal Capacity

This website is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18 years of age or anyone who lacks the legal capacity to consent under Indian law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Ask us to erase your information, where we are no longer required to retain it for the purpose it was collected, or where you have validly withdrawn consent, subject to our legal and regulatory retention obligations;
  • Withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, for processing that relies on consent;
  • Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity, as provided under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023;
  • Lodge a grievance with us, and if unresolved, escalate it to the Data Protection Board of India as provided under applicable law.

To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a grievance regarding how we handle your personal information, please write to us at neena@bizvalis.com.

8. Cookies

This website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — for basic site administration and to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site. Our cookies do not store sensitive personal information such as your name or address, and we do not share this data with third parties. You can restrict, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings; refer to your browser’s help documentation for instructions.
